Professor Jae-Bong Lee earned his Ph.D. from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison in the United States and has been a faculty
member in the Department of Education at the University of
Ulsan since 1997. His areas of expertise include the sociology of
education, educational policy, and liberal multicultural education.
From 2019 to 2024, he served as the co-representative of the
National Association of Professors for Social Justice. He has been
involved in efforts to uncover election fraud, campaign against
Confucius Institutes, and has been raised awareness about the
Chinese Communist Party's oppression of ethnic minorities.
In 2020, he led the research and writing of South Korea's first
‘Confucius Institute Status Report.’
