KCPAC Achievements
• • Contributors to the book include former Ambassador Morse Tan and various prominent Korean Peninsula experts, such as David Maxwell, a
Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Professor Bruce Bechtol of Angelo State University, Gordon Chang, Professor Sung-
Yoon Lee of Tufts University, and former North Korean high-ranking official Ri Jong-ho.
• • The published book was distributed for educational purposes to a group of experts on the Korean Peninsula in the United States and to Korean
Peninsula-related policymakers in the U.S. Congress.
• • About 10 Korean Peninsula experts and 100 people in the audience were invited to the DACOR-Bacon House, a national historic site in
Washington, D.C., to discuss the dangers of the Moon Jae-in administration’s push for an end-of-war declaration, and the denuclearization issue.
• • KCPAC and the KAFSP jointly hosted a book launch event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul inviting more than 100 figures from South Korea’s
politics, diplomacy, security, and academia, including former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn. Then-presidential candidate Yoon Suk-yeol and
the current president-elect said in a video message, “The reckless push by the Moon Jae-in administration to declare the end of the [Korean
War] shakes the national security and puts the people in danger. What should be focused on before declaring the end of the war, is North Korea’s
denuclearization and prevention of provocations and strengthening the ROK-U.S. alliance and solid cooperation with the international community
are the answers.”

The event was held in the following order: Praying for the New Year, speeches by invited guests, congratulatory messages, a concert, dinner, and
presentations given by opinion leaders, which was attended by about 300 Korean Christian, political, social, and security experts and leaders.
• • South Korean religious, political, and security leaders, such as Pastor Kim Jin-hong, former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, former auditor
Choi Jae-hyung, and former Army commander Kim Jae-chang, all gathered to address the need to rebuild the Republic of Korea based on three
conservative values: liberal democracy, national security, and the ROK-U.S. alliance. Annie Chan, who organized the event, said, “Security is
preserved only when power is present,” and stressed that opinion leaders should proudly spread correct conservative values to all Koreans.
• • Then-presidential candidate Yoon Suk-yeol (current President) attended the event and said, “We will protect the universal values of liberal
democracy and the rule of law and establish a strong security posture. We will create a society where fairness and common sense are straightened
again to open up the bright future of South Korea,” and went on to say, “I hope you all, who have led the philosophy and vision of conservatism
for a long time, will share wisdom and experience," in remarks which were well-received by the audience.
