Of the items collected, more than 544,000 kg were plastic and 18,000 kg were aluminium. Most
impressively, the initiative has prevented over 3.5 million kg of CO₂ emissions. In one day, a single

Sparklomat processed over 8,500 containers — a record-setting performance that showcases both efficiency

and community buy-in.

“The Bottle Return Scheme Abu Dhabi represents a strategic investment,” said Sheikha Mohamed Al

Mazrouei of EAD. “It consolidates environmental responsibility and strengthens our leadership in global
sustainability.”

Sparklo CEO Maxim Kaplevich added, “When recycling is made simple and engaging, communities embrace
the change.”

The program’s ongoing expansion aims to deepen community participation and scale RVM deployment,
reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s commitment to its 22% carbon reduction goal by 2027. Meanwhile, the initiative
