strengthening governance within the federation and developing a

talent discovery and development mechanism.

His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti said, “We are working with the

Fencing Federation to improve competitiveness in the sport by

examining current strengths and future opportunities, and finding

ways to develop fencing’s presence in the community, which will help

to attract more talent.”

The meeting follows the selection of fencing among the priority

sports announced by the Coordinating Council last June, along with

athletics, archery, archery and judo.

The Authority holds meetings with priority sports governing bodies to

set future strategy points that will help build new sports champions in

line with the Sports Sector Strategy 2032, which aims to broaden the

base of participation in the Olympic Games.

His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum said: “We

appreciate the great work the Fencing Federation has done in laying

the foundation for talent recruitment in collaboration with clubs and
