Project Details and Vision

The total length of the expansion, inclusive of ramps, reaches 171 meters, with the main span extending approximately 70

meters. This project is not limited to merely widening the thoroughfare; it encompasses a holistic improvement plan that
includes upgrading road pavements, enhancing infrastructure services, and creating landscaping works that harmonize with the

surrounding environment. New street lighting installations will further augment safety and visibility for all road users.

One of the most significant outcomes anticipated from this expansion is the increase in the bridge’s capacity from 4,200

vehicles per hour to 5,600 vehicles per hour, marking a remarkable 33 percent increase. Such a significant enhancement is not
merely numerical; it strives to alleviate road congestion, improve safety, and substantially reduce travel times during peak
hours.

In light of these developments, Al Tayer reaffirmed the RTA’s unwavering dedication to advancing Dubai’s overall road and

transport infrastructure. He stated, “Our objective remains to enhance the efficiency of key corridors and provide sustainable
mobility solutions that foster the movement of both residents and visitors. This is integral to improving the quality of life in

Dubai and reinforcing the emirate’s standing as a global hub for international events.”
