Al Tayer highlighted that the project aligns with RTA’s mission to provide sustainable mobility solutions that facilitate
movement for residents and visitors alike. These efforts are crucial in maintaining Dubai's status as a global hub for
international events.
Previous Developments on Airport Street
Recently, RTA completed an upgrade on Airport Street from its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to
Casablanca Street. This included building bridges and tunnels at Al Rashidiya and intersections with Casablanca Street,
Marrakech Street, and Nad Al Hamar Street.
The project also delivered a single-lane bridge offering direct access to Terminal 3 without stopping at signalised
intersections. Additionally, another bridge leads to the Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects complex while providing an
alternative route for vehicles from Al Garhoud directly accessing Terminals 1 and 3.
This comprehensive approach ensures smoother traffic flow towards key areas within Dubai International Airport. The
expansion of Casablanca Street from three to four lanes towards Al Garhoud Bridge further supports this goal by easing
congestion during peak hours.
