AN INTRODUCTION TO VC TEACHING FOR ONESCHOOL STAFF
Adjusting the camera
You eed to control your camera so that students at remote end-points have an engaging view and feel a part
of your classroom. Some useful views include:
• Head-and-shoulders view of the teacher (for use when addressing all students)
• The whiteboard
• The whole class
• Individual students in your class who are speaking e.g. a hotseat position

To control the direction of the camera, use the arrow keys
To control the magnification use the zoom in/out keys (+ and -).
On the Polycom unit you can also set presets which saves your preferred camera positions. It is handy to have
a preset for each of the positions mentioned above.
To save a preset, hit the Preset button on your remote. Adjust your camera to your preferred position.
Hold in the number that you want to save your preset as until it says ‘Preset saved’ at the bottom of the
screen (0-9).
To recall a preset, hit the number of your desired preset and the camera should adjust automatically.
