Zoom Settings
You can control your Zoom settings through your account. This enables you to turn on useful features and
turn off features that could be distracting for your class.
Go to https://agnewschool.zoom.us
Login to your account and then click on Meeting settings on the left hand navigation menu

To change any settings, click on Edit on the right hand side of the screen and personalise you. r settings as
necessary. Some useful settings to be aware of are:
• Chat - turn this on if you would like to have chat running during your lesson. It is a whole meeting chat,
so everyone sees the messages, and no private messaging between students is possible, as long as private
chat remaains disabledStudents can sometimes misuse it, but Zoom always saves the chat at the end of
the session if you need a record.
• Annotation – turn this on to allow students to annotate on your screen. This is great if you want them
to answer questions on your whiteboard. They can misuse it but it’s easy to deactivate in your meeting if
this is the case. This setting is explained in more detail later in the guide.
• Far end camera control – Best to keep this off. When this feature is on, students can request to control
other cameras. From personal devices participants have the choice to allow or deny this, but if they
request to control one of the classroom cameras there is no way to deny this and the students will be able
to control the camera at other campuses.
• Waiting rooms – This feature puts all participants in a waiting room when they join the meeting and the
host needs to give them entry to the meeting (this is done through Manage participants). It allows the host
control over who is in the meeting, and they can easily move participants back and forth from the waiting
