My students can’t hear me
• Check you aren’t muted on Zoom
• Check microphone is on
• Check their volume is up.
I’m getting audio feedback
If you are getting noisy audio feedback, there is more than one device in the classroom using audio on Zoom.
This can be in your own classroom or one at the receiving end.
Ask everyone to turn off their computer audio, or alternatively they can use their computer audio if they are
wearing a headset. Muting alone won’t fix the problem; they need to turn off the audio (speakers) as well.
You can also ‘Mute all’ in Zoom to stop the sound while everyone is turning off their audio.
If you are using the VC unit microphone and speakers, you should not connect audio in Zoom on your
device.
Sharing documents using a document camera
A document camera is a way to share physical documents and objects. It’s good to use when you want to
draw or write something by hand instead of on your computer. It’s also a great way for students to quickly
share their book work. Most VC classrooms should have a document camera.
