Mom said, “It’s 100˚C today,”
Then walked away real fast.
I thought, “We’re boiled, cooked, deep-fried and what
not!”
“The world is hot at last!”
In school I learned just yesterday,
100˚ Celsius makes almost all things cook.
Water boils at that high heat and helps food start to
cook.
I read it in my science book!
I built a bunker made of chairs,
Put ice and fans inside.
I wore my hat and sunscreen too,
And told my cat to hide.
But Mom just smiled and said to me,
“That’s not how hot it’s going to be.
You learned Celsius — this is not!
100˚Fahrenheit is just... hot.”
