He asked a man why every-
one was growing old very
fast. The man told him that if
anyone drinks the fountain
water, they grow older. And
to stop this they need to
drink normal water. Ethan
was growing old hour-by-
hour. He wanted to stop this.
He went to the nearest res-
taurant to drink some juice
thinking that they would have added normal water. But he got reminded of the foun-
tain water that they would have also mixed that water in their juice. So, he had no
option. Suddenly he got reminded of the pickles in his bag. They contained the nor-
mal water. So, he took his pickles and tried to open them. But he was so weak that
he couldn’t open the pickle jar. He tried harder and harder. And finally, he opened
the jar, and he drank the water. Now he was growing back younger. He was happy
that the pickles saved his life. He quickly went out of the city and followed in the
footsteps of the monster. He went too far, but he couldn’t find any house which
looked like the monster. Ethan knew that he was lost. He wanted to go back to his
village. But if he does that, He won’t be able to save his village. So, he travelled
miles and miles. Suddenly the footsteps weren’t there anymore. He saw a house
nearby. He went and opened the door. There was a giant monster relaxing. He went
inside quietly. Due to the sound of Ethan’s footsteps the monster woke up. He was a
frightening monster with one eye which was yellow in colour. He wanted to eat
Ethan. Ethan asked, “Why do you eat people?” The monster told him that nobody
tells him stories. But humans have many stories stored in their brains. That’s why he
eats people to get their stories. The monster only wanted one perfect story. But
many of the humans don’t have good stories. They have boring stories. Ethan knew
what to do. He went to the monster and told a fairy tale. The monster liked the story.
He thanked Ethan and promised him that he won’t eat people anymore for a good
story. Instead, he would call Ethan for more good stories. Ethan asked the monster
to return the people in the village that night which he had eaten.
