my mom had a
quilt like that
Lone Star with Flowers 1940s. Purchased from Sharon Mills at Benigo’s Abode in North Bend, WA. 79"x80"
Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Cotton, thin. Backing: White cotton like sheeting. Edge: Scalloped, machine made,
applied to the back by machine and to the front by hand. Piecing: By hand. Quilting: By hand, fine stitch-
ing, in 4-petaled compass stars around the central star, a deep border of diamonds, and an edge with
waves paralleling the scalloped outer edge. Condition: Excellent. Comment: This is well planned and exe-
cuted scrap quilt, and not a kit, as evidenced by some of the tiny pieces that are themselves pieced, and
some are 100-year-old chrome green. Sharon Mills purchased this and another quilt from a woman whose
aunt made them in Florida.
