               Lone Star in Brown with Brown Star Border 1890s. Purchased from an antique shop (Benigo’s Abode) in
               North Bend, WA in 1997. 56½"x 72½" Fabric: Cotton prints and muslin feed sack white fields. Batting: Thin
               cotton. Backing: White cotton. Edge: Replaced binding? It’s pristine in a well-matched rust color, machined
               to the top and hand stitched to the back. Piecing: By hand. Quilting: By hand, 7 stitches to the inch, in a
               fan pattern that has close lines at the base diverging to an arch. Condition: Very good. Some of the muslin
               fields are tanning, and one shows blue feed-sack letters, not quite legible as whole words. Comment: It’s
               unusual to find browns this old in good condition, but these are just fine.
