               Feathered Star in Orange 1930s. Purchased in Port Orchard, WA in 1995. 63½"x71" Fabric: Cotton. Batting:
               Light cotton. Backing: Cotton muslin. Edge: Tape machined to the front and caught by hand in back. Piec-
               ing: Motifs are pieced by hand; blocks are joined by machine. Quilting: By hand in white thread, 6 stitches
               per inch. Quilting pattern is a diamond grid in the borders, cable in sashes, rosettes in the orange centers
               of blocks, and straight line inside the seam of star-arms. Condition: Good. A split in the white appears next
               to the outer diamond in each of two stars and alongside one sash. Being white, they don’t show. There is
               subtle fading of a center orange sash.
