Plain in Amish style Unknown age, but from the lavish use of silk, I’d guess Victorian era. Antique show
Seattle area in 1994. 69"x88" Fabric: Silk. Batting: Thin cotton. Backing: Melon-colored light-weight cotton.
Edge: Turned inside and stitched by hand. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: By hand, extensive and elaborate,
regular 8 stitches to the inch, matching thread. The center and each corner of gray and pink have a wreath.
The gray field and innermost part of the pink border are a ¾" grid. The outer border contains a repeated
stand-alone motif that looks architectural. Condition: Very good. There is one age stain about an inch long
in the pink border.
