Message from the National President

As the first two years of the Investing Administration comes to a close, I would like to
thank you, the members of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., for your commitment,
time and effort in providing exceptional programming to the communities we
serve. In addition, I thank you for affording me the opportunity to guide you in
this effort. Without your continued cooperation and desire to be of service to
all humankind, my leadership would be for naught. Thank you for your
unconditional support. I am eternally indebted to my officers and committee
chairmen for going above and beyond the call of duty, and to the members for
standing steadfast and heeding the call to service.

During these past two years, I have represented Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.
far and wide as National President, workshop presenter, moderator, keynote
speaker, panelist, etc. I have enjoyed spreading the word about our illustrious
organization and telling the world of all that we do. Upon my election as National
President, the North Cluster of Area III, spearheaded by the Lincoln Park Chicago

Chapter and assisted by the South Suburban Chicago Chapter, hosted a
Reception for the National President of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. There
were 200 of the community’s finest in attendance: representatives from the
Divine Nine, community leaders, politicians, friends, family and, of course, Top
Ladies of Distinction, Inc. This was one of the proudest days of my life to be able to stand
before so many movers and shakers and tell them about TLOD. The audience was diverse and very
interested in what we do, giving me the opportunity to articulate our beginnings, our present and our
future. Let us review our progress:

National Theme: "Investing in V.A.L.U.E.S. that Support, Enhance, and Sustain”

National Focus: To invest in our communities, as well as ourselves, through: (1) Volunteer service; (2)
Advocacy and accountability; (3) Leadership development and succession planning; (4) Unity and
collaboration; (5) Engagement and empowerment; and (6) Social responsibility and sisterly concern.

National Programs
Top Teens of America's M.O.M.E.N.T.U.M. programming was enhanced to include enrichment activities
that were relevant to the interests and continued growth of Teens. Additional focus and initiatives were:

 Bullying initiative with the NICHD
 TTA Walk for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
 March for Babies
 Dred Scott Monument Project
 Spelling Bee
 Blessings in a Backpack Initiative
 TTA Leadership Academy focusing on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math)
