UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND
National Top Ladies of Distinction’s, United Negro
College Fund Committee’s major focus was to
increase donations to the college fund. The UNCF
Faith Initiative (UNCF Sunday) was our first project.
Secondly, we participated in UNCF Walk’s for
Education; thirdly, College Fairs of HBCU’s including
UNCF colleges and universities with our Top Teens of
American.
We collaborated with over fifty organizations and some
churches including newspapers, banks, community
colleges, parks and recreation centers, radio stations,
local TV stations, in-kind services (who made provisions for our college fairs, college financial
seminars and TTA activities in their facilities).
Our fourth focus is advocacy with UNCF issues on seeking financial support for future and
current students attending our HBCU’s including 37 UNCF schools. We participated in letter
writings, texting, and emails to our legislators for Parent Plus Grants, American College Promise
Act and HBCU Historical Preservations Campaign.
Our Ladies, Lords, Teens and community supporters raised over one hundred thousand dollars
from 2015-2017 for UNCF; these funds will benefit 60,000 students attending our UNCF
schools. We are very grateful to Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. for your support in these efforts.
In honor of Top Ladies of Distinction’s contributions to the many communities we serve, the
National Alumni Council/UNCF honored Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. with the 2017
NAC/UNCF Legacy Award accepted by our National Top Ladies President Lady Drema Lee
Woldman for outstanding community service and financial donations. Special thanks to the
TLOD Area Representatives, Co-Representatives and Chapter UNCF Chairs and Co-Chairs for
without their volunteer service none of this would have been possible.
