Houston Chapter Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated Announces
2017-2019 New Leadership Team

The historic Houston Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated elected Lady
Katherine Wilson president. Lady Wilson, began her TLOD journey as a Top Teen in
Beaumont Texas with Lady Georgia Smith, mother of football star, Bubba Smith as
mentor. Lady Smith mentored then Teen Katherine Hunter through exposing her to
valuable cultural and community service activities and guided her in achieving 1st
Runner-Up in the Mr. & Miss Top Teen Presentation Ball. The journey continued when
Wilson, shared in a conversation with Lady Fannie Lundy her interest in becoming a Top
Lady. Lady Lundy recommended Mrs. Wilson for member in 2001, and the rest is
history.

As a member of the Houston Chapter, Lady Wilson has held numerous positions and
chaired many successful activities and programs as well as served as mentor to several
Top Teens. In recognition of her outstanding service, Lady Wilson was nominated as
Top Lady of the Year in 2007. As a beloved member of the service organization, Lady
Wilson also serves on the Area Level as Chair of the Performing Arts Awards Committee
and Co-Chair of the National Music Council.

Other members of the 2017-2019 Leadership Team include: Ladies Leslie Griggs, 1st
Vice President, Alfretta Hicks, 2nd Vice President, Ornita Green, Recording Secretary,
JoAntonette Kirksey, Financial Secretary, Helen Muhammad, Treasurer, and Valerie
Leverette, Top Teens Advisor.

40th Syn-Lod Conference

Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated served as past chapter president received
