Black History Starts With Our Senior Citizens

“We Care,” is the National TLOD theme. The Humble Intercontinental Chapter honors Senior Citizens in the
community. Black History has started with the Humble Chapter. Residents at the Brook Hollow Heights
Rehabilitation Center were

there were over 60 residents
present. Residents were also
entertained by a comedian, Lady
O’Neal discussed how to keep a
Healthy Heart and making
Healthy Choices. At Christmas,
members of the Humble Chapter
donated over 116 blankets and
socks to the residents at Brook
Hollow, residents attended a
presentation on, “Foot Care.” On National Grandparents Day in 2016, the Humble Chapter honored 21 grandparents
from the Houston Community, with over 250 guest present. The Great Day Houston Show hosted, Grandparents
Day Honorees and the local AARP organization presented the advantages of joining AARP. Other guest included
the oldest grandparent, Healthcare agencies, and the Caregiving Initiative was discussed. Lady Kathy Mosby, Senior
Citizens Chair is noted for her through planning for the residents.
