From Generation to Generation

                       Temple Israel Honors

                 Alec W. Ornstein

For more than two decades, Alec Ornstein, one of the founders and a principal of Ornstein
Leyton Company has achieved an impressive track record of Building Excellence that's second to
none in the construction and development of real estate properties. Now, in addition to the many
current assets of OLC, Alec has created a new entity, Ornstein Development Company (ODC), to
pursue opportunities on his own and with other strategic partners.

The success of Alec and OLC can be attributed to commitment and vision. Throughout the last
twenty three years, they have found and maximized the potential of properties in and around
the New York Metropolitan area, developing hundreds of homes as well as commercial properties.

This deep pool of experience and abilities will help ODC and its partners move from concept-
whether it's developing a raw piece of land, leveraging the vision to identify opportunities or
finishing and improving distressed or unfinished properties-to a finished product. His
experiences with OLC and these relationships translate into opportunities for profitable projects
that help build communities and businesses, ensuring a development-whether residential or
commercial-of which a community can be justifiably proud.

Ornstein presently resides on Long Island. He is currently co-Chairman of the Board and two-
time Past President of NAHB's Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI), where he serves as PAC
co-chair and the organizations board as a Life Director. In addition to hobbies that include
tennis and sailing, he is a leader in philanthropic efforts including as a former Vice President of
the American Jewish Committee and within his local synagogue where he has Chaired several
committees.

The Ornstein family has been a part of Temple Israel since the early 1930's, lending their
commitment and support for more than eighty years. Alec Ornstein is the grandson of Rose and
Hon. Theodore Ornstein (last Mayor of the City of Long Beach) and son of Anita and Franklin H.
Ornstein (former Nassau County Clerk), all of blessed memory. He continues to hold Temple
Israel close to his heart.

Alec resides in Lloyd Harbor with his wife Jennifer and is the most proud father of Avery and
Halley, as well as stepfather of Matt, Ari and Megan.
