Community Engagement
Lending a Helping Hand to the Forgotten Class
With the rapid development of computer technology over the past 30 years, there has been a direct
proportional increase in the demand for computers at all tiers of the market. Breaking the barriers to access
for those in society without computers is one of the many challenges society faces. At Xperien, we are
working to apply our strengths to solve various social issues and safeguard people’s rights. One of these
fundamental rights is the right to education.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world”. As education takes a more digital approach, it is even more pertinent now to increase access to
computing technology. We have taken the stance of “Lending a Helping Hand to the Forgotten Class” by
providing computing support to students at middle-class independent and private schools.
As part of the company’s CSR, we donated 20 desktops to Far North School and will continue to nurture this
relationship as part of our goals for 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the pace of transition to e-learning and other digital learning tools.
Without helping those without the means of private computing, the already existing gap between the haves
and the have nots within the education sphere will only increase.
Donations to Charitable Causes
We are involved in the donation of IT Assets on behalf of our corporate clients. During the reporting period,
we refurbished and donated 482 desktops, 325 LCDs and 232 laptops to various NPOs, NGOs, schools,
welfares, and civic organisations. Our goal for 2021 is to donate 1000+ desktops, LCDs, and laptops.

Greater Johannesburg area.
Proportion of Spending on Local Suppliers
Our spending on local suppliers equates to 30% of our net procurement spend. By supporting local suppliers,
our organisation indirectly contributes to the local economy. Through all our social endeavours, we
earnestly hope that society can experience the benefits of the circular economy we promote.
