4.  INNOVATIONS

               4.1 TRACK


                   1.  CTR(P) WITH ROAD CRANES:
                       It  is  difficult  to  execute  CTR  works  at  PF  lines  through  mechanized
                       means like PQRS because of infrigement frorm other lines as well as PF.
                       Secunderabad  Division,  for  the  first  time  in  the  Railway,  utilised  road
                       cranes  for  executing  the  CTR  work  on  platform  line  through
                       mechanized means.  Panels have been fabricated in depot and they

                       have been transported through BFRs and unloaded on to PF.  A block
                       of 5 hrs. has been taken.  During the block, using 20T road cranes (06
                       nos.), existing track has been dismantled and the released panels are
                       kept on PF and new panels have been lifted from PF and placed on
                       the track.  Rail Renewal has also been completed in the same block.
                       This  has  saved  lot  of  time  and  energy  required  for  manual  CTR  work.
                       This  work  has  ensured  uniform  spacing  of  sleepers  and  the  work  has
                       been  completed  in  the  shortest  possible  time  with  100%  safety.    For
                       manual insertion, we need about  15 days  to complete one PF. Here,
                       the total work has been completed in one block and the caution order

                       could be relaxed quickly.  Using this method, we have completed CTR
                       on PF lines at Fatehnagar, Nature Cure Hospital and Marpalli stations.
                       The  shadow  blocks  have  been  utilised  for  regular  PQRS  works.

                       Railways Shri Piyush Goyal for this excellent work.
