WHAT TO EXPECT THE FRONT-END PROCESS

2 DESIGN

A well-developed design makes the difference between an ordinary project and an extraordinary extension of your
home. We strive to create fully custom outdoor living spaces with the best aesthetic, functionality, materials, and
craftsmanship. At Prolific, we are design focused!

Designs take time to create, and because of this, we require a design deposit-to-proceed payment before we begin.
Once the deposit is paid, we will create your project profile on Buildertrend. You will setup your login and from that
point will have a completely interactive project experience. This will be your personal project page for all files,
messages, invoices, and schedule.

It is extremely important that the design process is not hurried in any way, so that the full extent of the vision and
creative manifestation can have time to develop during this process. We are creating art on a large, living canvas.
This project will be a lifetime investment for your family and for your home. In the excitement of wanting to get the
project done, it can seem that the design process is drawn out. In the long run, you are creating this space for every
season of your life, not just this current season. Leaving adequate time for this process will ultimately serve you well
in the end.
The design time can take approximately 3 - 6+ weeks from meeting date depending on project complexity,
engineering, and revisions. This time estimate can change.

Once the design is completed, and the estimate is done, we will schedule an in-person review at our design center.
At this time, your project will be revealed in 2D and/or 3D, bringing the vision to life. We can discuss what you like
and if you would like to change anything. While at the design center, we can begin choosing specific materials and
selections from our onsite displays. You can see some of our work while you are here too.
It is important to remember that nothing is written in stone. Every estimate and design can be changed or tweaked
in the process. Utilize us and we can evaluate how we can make changes to get you where you need to be. Two
revisions are included in the design fee. Although, with our detailed process, 95% of designs are approved at the
first review or with a few tweaks in the first revision. Once we make the revisions, we send you the revised design
via Buildertrend.

“Apples to Apples”
Our designs are completely custom and unique. If another contractor
priced something for you, it is not going to be apples to apples with
ours. Every contractor has their own pricing and construction methods.
It is important to understand what you are evaluating when you are
comparing bids. One contractor may have more lineal feet of wall,
therefore, his price will likely be higher. One contractor may be using a
low-grade paver, and his price will be lower. All contractors have
different overhead costs and financial requirements. It is important to
not get caught up on the grand total price, as this is never going to be
apples to apples with someone else.
