A message from our President
27th Annual SFHREF Golf Tournament EVENTS
September 12
Cooler weather is on the way and it is time to play golf! The 27th Annual South Florida
Safety & Security Committee
Hospital Research and Education Foundation Golf Tournament is one of our main fundrais-
Meeting: Stop The Bleed
ing events that we have hosted for the last 27 years. The money raised from this tournament
Training
will be used to support the activities of our research and education Foundation (501c3). Keiser University Pembroke
Our Foundation is a major financial supporter of our educational programs and, often- Pines
times, resources from the Foundation are used to keep the cost of attending our programs as
low as possible. October 3
This year our golf tournament will be held at the Lago Mar Country Club in Plantation, Health Information Technology
Florida. Committee Meeting: Virtual
A beautiful course nestled in a very private neighborhood in Plantation, this is where we Reality Applications &
Innovations
plan to have our wonderful tournament! Whether winning the tournament, one of the auc-
tion items, volunteering, or just meeting new friends, this is the event to attend.

Our Golf Committee co-chairs this year are David Wagner, Kindred South Florida Market
Educational Roundtable:
CEO and Jared Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health Coral Springs. To help them,
Canada Day
we have a golf committee of eighteen excited members consisting of hospital administrators,
consultants, transportation, labs, vendors...you name it and they are represented on our com- November 4
Jaime Caldwell mittee. We were lucky to get Mike Roffelsen, CEO, Encompass Sunrise to volunteer to be our 27th Annual Golf Tournament
Auction Committee Chair, James Sturgis, VP, TD Bank to chair our Sponsorship Committee, at Lago Mar Country Club
and Joe Stuczynski, CFO Memorial South, to Chair our Games Committee. Sadly, we have closed this committee to any new mem-
bers, but there will be other opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. November 12
So, there are two things you can do. First, and we know most popular in South Florida, is procrastinate and don’t go to SFHHA Academic Talks
FIU Main Campus
https://sfhha.com/events-page/#!event/2019/11/4/sfhha-27th-annual-golf-tournament and register to make sure that you have a good
pairing. Or, second, and I like this option best, take the initiative and register for your
December 5
organization and make sure that you are paired with a foursomes that you like.
5:30 – 8:30 pm
This year’s tournament will be on November 4th and the shotgun start will be at
Annual Meeting and Dinner
8:30 am. Think about it, a cool, crisp November Monday morning and your first order Signature Grand
of business is to register, buy raffle and mulligan tickets, and then move out to the
driving range for some warm-up 300 yard drives. Then, at 8:30 a.m. we start the tour-
nament and meet each other back at the clubhouse for a great lunch and awards cer-
emony. There will also be a great breakfast and snacks and drinks along the way so
don’t miss this event. NEW MEMBER
Make sure you make the right decision for November 4th!
