6. Relative Adverb : Relative adverb is 'where', 'why' and 'when'. They modify a word
and refer to a thing or person that the pronoun refers to.
Examples : (i) I knew the place where you were born.
(ii) Do you know the time when they will come here?
The words 'where' and 'when' are the relative adverbs.
7. Interrogative Adverb : Interrogative adverb is used to ask questions about time,
manner and place.
Examples : (i) Why are you sad?
(ii) When will you go to Kanpur?
(iii) How did he pass?
(iv) Where are you going?
Interrogative adverbs are usually placed at the beginning of a sentence. Here, 'why',
'when', 'how' and 'where' are interrogative adverbs.
8. Exclamatory Adverb : Exclamatory adverb express degree or extent in exclamation.
Examples : (i) What a lovely idea!
(ii) How nicely she sang!
(iii) How beautiful she is!
'What' and 'How' are exclamatory adverbs.
