You can clearly see why am talking of having an anchor for my soul. This world will promise
things it cannot deliver and it is either painting a picture of gloom and doom or one that is
just the opposite.

Rosy sunsets well to do people enjoying life and the comforts of owning your own piece of
the African Dream which by the way if you look at it closely cannot stand the test of time
when every ten or so years we elect a govt that fails to deliver on its promises.

And some people have come to see the assurances given by the lord as a weight instead of an
anchor. So now churches are losing ground to shady politicians who are seemingly the only
hope we have of maintain a healthy co existence between church and state.

1 Cor. 9:19-23 tells us this about the policy Paul used in engaging the culture for the gospel
message of the lord Jesus.

Vv 19 for though i be free from all men, yet have i made myself servant unto all, that i might
gain the more.

Vv 20 and unto the Jews i became as a Jew, that i might gain the Jews; to them who are under
the law, as under the law, that i might gain them who are under the law.

Vv 21 to them who are without law as without law being not without law to god but under the
law of Christ, that i might gain them who are without law.

Vv22 to the weak became i as weak, that i might gain the weak: i am made all things to all
men, that i might by all means save some.

Vv 23 and this i do for the gospel’s sake, that i might be a partaker thereof with you.

As i have said in this article that we all need assurances in life but if we keep developing the
wrong kinds of assurance we will be like the waves of the sea ... unstable in the way we think
and act out our emotions.

James said in his epistle that a double minded man is unstable in everything he does. Let him
not think he can get anything good from the lord! The book of Hebrew tells us that we should
not be driven to and fro by every wind of doctrine.

We have seen just how easy it is for erroneous philosophies to become entrenched in the
minds of the youth. They have all the passions a race horse has for following after a carrot
dangled in front of it from a stick.

Even through the driest desert that horse will keep following that same carrot thinking its one
day i will surely eat this thing before i starve to death! When you see kids dancing on the
stage with dreadlocks unkempt hair and shabby droves ...
