4.3. DEEP SCREENING OF YARDS USING MDUS

For the first time in S.C.Railway, Secunderabad Division has
commissioned muck disposal units and they have been utilized for deep
screening of yards and cuttings.Generally, deep screening of yards and
P&C is not feasible by regular BCM method because the released muck
disposal will be a big issue. By utilizing MDUs connected to BCMs itself,
the problem of muck disposal has been solved. Because of utilization of
MDUs, we were able to deep screen yards including P&C regions.
Utilization of MDUs also eliminates unnecessary blocking of another line
required for placement of hoppers, etc. Utilization of MDUs for deep
screening has resulted in improvement of running in the yards to a great

extent.

4.4. SWITCH RAIL GRINDING MACHINE (SRGM)
For the first time in S.C.Railway, SRGM has been commissioned in SC
