Salary Basic salary: Meaning monthly basic salary excluding
allowances.
Salary: Meaning basic salary including fixed allowances.
Allowance Other payments to an employee other than salary.
Last drawn salary Meaning the last salary paid in full to an employee.

Department Meaning functional working department established under
company’s organization chart.
Day Meaning a continuous period of 24 hours from midnight.
Shift Meaning the work in which due to the type of work that
requires work to be conducted continuously or continually
according to company’s requirements.
