                Not only does being grateful constitute good manners, but expressing

            it through actions can help us win new acquaintance. Studies show that
            showing new friends’ gratitude makes them more likely to seek a long-

            lasting relationship.





            •      Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression.


































                Often, people who ranked higher on gratitude balance are less likely
            to strike back against others, even when given negative feedback. Such

            persons experience more sensitivity and empathy toward other people
            and a decreased desire to seek revenge.
