In Our Society | Oral Cancer Screening
On March 6, 2024 The Nassau County Dental Society and Nassau Academy of Dentistry did a free oral
cancer screening at the Nassau Coliseum prior to a Long Island Nets game against the Westchester Knicks.
It was Cancer Awareness Night at the game, sponsored by Memorial Sloan Kettering, which made our
presence even more appropriate. I want to thank our volunteers for giving up their evening for this
important public service: Dr. James Dolin, Dr. Fabiola Milord, Dr. John Fantasia, Dr. Lydia Chen, Dr. Moshe
Schuck, Dr. Jamie Contreras, Dr. Jacob Burns, Dr. Julia Price, Dr. Olivia Kim, and Dr. Thomas Beague. I also
want to thank the Long Island Nets for partnering with us for this event as well as Give Kids A Smile and for
providing free tickets to that night’s game for our volunteers and a custom NCDS/L.I. Nets Jersey.
