Congratulations to:

NCDS Past President, Dr. Bob Peskin and his wife Loretta on becoming first time grandparents.
Emerson (Emmie) Sienna Peskin was born on March 9, 2024, to Harris and Abby Peskin. She weighed in
at 7 lbs, 15 oz. and was 20" at birth.

Condolences to:

The friends and family of Dr. Benjamin Fishbein, of Cedarhurst, New York who passed away on Saturday,
July 29, 2023. A member of the Tripartite for 41 years, he was a general practitioner in Lynbrook.

The friends and family of Dr. Alvin Horing of East Marion who died Sept. 26, 2023. He was 84. Born in
Brooklyn on March 24, 1939, he was the son of Max and Pauline Horing. He earned a doctorate degree in
dental surgery and married his wife, Barbara on June 26, 1960, in Brooklyn. Dr. Horing served as a captain
in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He then practiced in Baldwin and was a member of the Tripartite for
57 years. He enjoyed fishing, golf and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife,
Barbara, of East Marion; daughters Lisa Cook of East Marion and Audrey Linsky of South Carolina; five
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The friends and family of Aaron Rappaport, DDS who passed away on Nov. 14, 2023, at the age of 87. He
practiced in Oceanside and retired in 2012. He was a member of NCDS and the Tripartite for 60 years!

NCDS In Search of a New Bulletin Editor

After 13 years as our Bulletin Editor, Dr. Donald Hills has decided to step down so he can devote more
time to his position as our NYSDA Trustee. We are putting out a call to all our members. The job of Editor
involves overseeing the publication of the three yearly issues of our Bulletin, gathering articles for print,
proof reading the issue prior to print, and writing an Editorial for each issue. If you’d like to be considered
for this volunteer position, please submit your name, CV, and some examples of your writings to our
Executive Director, Dr. Gene Porcelli by emailing him at eporcelli@nassaudental.org

Potential candidates will be contacted to set up an interview by our search committee. This is an
opportunity to share your ideas and perspectives on dentistry with all our members.
