Initiation of hypertension treatment with single

pill combination is preferred strategy versus

                                         stepped-care approach

Initiation of treatment preferably with an SPC comprising two drugs, to improve the
speed, efficiency, and predictability of BP control is recommended, in most patients.

                                                                   1 Pill

              Use monotherapy for:

              A) Low risk grade 1 (without any risk factor, disease and HMOD).
              B) Frail, older patients ( Age≥ 80y/o )

               Use beta-blocker:
A beta-blocker in combination with major classes is an alternative when there is angina,
post-myocardial infarction, heart failure, or heart rate control, atrial fibrillation, or
younger women with, or planning pregnancy.
