Out of Bounds – On Campus
The following areas will be out of bounds and any students found within them can expect to be sanctioned:
• Grounds and gardens yard.
• Beyond athletics track.
• Athletics huts and Keen’s Elm pitch.
• 1st XI cricket pitch and surround.
• Golf and cricket centres.
• Sanctuary garden.
• All equestrian area/outdoor school.
• Butleigh: playing fields, hockey Astro, golf driving range and woods beyond; swimming pool car park.
• Somerton Road and all roads beyond the perimeter.
Campus in-bounds
The following areas are the designated in-bounds areas:
• Chindit green
• Junior fields
• Campus Astro
• Golf course
• Athletics track
• Tennis courts
Students are expected to transition between houses and these venues using direct pathways and not via any out of bounds
areas.
Visitations to other houses are welcomed by invitation.
Out of Bounds Sanctions:
• First Offence: Two-week campus ban
• Second Offence: Level 4 detention and a two-week campus ban
Any sanction for being out of bounds will be escalated if a student is behaving in a way which contravenes the school values.
IT
The Millfield ICT Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) should be followed at all times.
Note that any device used to access school systems e.g., Wi-Fi, email, apps is subject to the AUP.
There should be no recording, storing or sharing footage of others (students or staff) without permission.
Students and staff should take particular care to respect safeguarding practices whilst on social media.
Many of the mistakes made in person can also play out online, so the impact, and consequences, are similarly robust as they
can cause personal distress and reputational damage to Millfield.
Remember, never put anything online that you wouldn’t want your grandparents to see!
