As a young black male, I consider myself to be a well-rounded citizen who makes it a priority to perform
well academically, participate in community service and extra-curricular activities. As a member of the
National Honor Society, I have learned leadership skills, teamwork and mentorship. Cass Technical High
School and Wayne County Community College prepared me for the expectations and responsibilities
that come with college. My journey not only includes academia it also includes spiritual growth. I want
to have more of an understanding of who I am as a young black male to become more aware of my
identity as a spiritual being.
