P. 3
We are really pleased that you have decided to join Ashton Sixth Form College. We hope
your time here will be a happy and rewarding experience.
All students take apart in an “induction “which will introduce you to college life and all
the facilities and support services available to you.
The information in this booklet will help you to complete the induction activities with the
help from your teachers.
The Education and Health team would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the
induction programme.
During this week you will get to know about the course, the college, coursework, your
group and the staff, as well as an insight to college life.
We will be doing some team building exercises in order for you to familiarise yourself with
your group and your teachers. This will hopefully make you feel comfortable and relaxed
in your environment which will enable you to learn to your full potential.
During your college induction you will have a range of tasks to complete, including a
homework assignment. These tasks will give you a taste of what the course entails and
how it will be assessed. Read through this booklet carefully, completing the activities in
red as you go (use the hyperlinks to help you). There will be a quiz on what you can
remember.
Please remember that your course is continually assessed, so it is imperative that you work
to your best standard on each piece of course work and meet all deadlines set by your
teachers.
Hopefully you will enjoy this challenge! Good luck and best wishes.
