it needs to tell you. You will be surprised to find that you will stop feeling
uncomfortable. You actually start feeling soothed because you are self-parenting.
When you listen to your discomfort and you hold it and you give it space and you
embrace it and say “hey it's ok I've got you, we've got this, I'm here for you no matter
what” your discomfort will dissipate.
In fact, all of our emotions have special messages to tell us. One emotion that I have
suffered a lot in my life is anxiety. Part of my anxiety has to do with physical
discomfort. But actually what anxiety is it's the space between fear and hope.
Anxiety is the space between fear and hope. It is when we are afraid but we are
hopeful and in between that space is a place of uncertainty. How do we deal with
anxiety?
The truth is anxiety is a very special emotion. It is special because in order for you to
really respect and honour anxiety and the message that it is telling you, you actually
need to respect an honour and value yourself.
The reason why we feel anxious in life is because we aren't asserting our boundaries.
In order to assert your boundaries, you need to have confidence in yourself. You need
to have confidence and self-belief in who you are and what you want. Then you need
to have the courage to assert your confidence and your self-belief by sharing that with
whoever it is that you need to share it with in order to assert the boundaries you need
to feel secure in your life.
