                                  THE SILVER SKATER AWARDS  HAS WHEELS!
           Held as a joint fundraiser for the California Surf Museum and the Skateboarding Hall of Fame, the first-ever
      “Silver Skater” awards premiered on Saturday, August 24 at the Veterans Association Hall in Oceanside.
      Dozens of pro skaters and faithful supporters gathered to pay tribute to six of the sport’s groundbreakers and
      innovators from the 1960s-1970s.

                                                 Tony Alva wrapped up the
                                                 evening with a rousing speech
                                                 about his life and times,
                                                 complete with vivid
                                                 recollections and appreciation
                                                 for his place in skate history.
