SWeek 2020 Highlights STEMpowered Potentials Virtually

Highlighting the scientific abilities and potentials of the
Josenians, the SHS Department, spearheaded by the STEM Student
Consortium (SSC), conducted this school year’s week-long STEM week,
but this time, via online.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still in mind, the Grade 11 and
Grade 12 STEM students persisted through the challenges despite
the virtual limitations and showed their determination to continue
learning by showing their scientific skills and talents through
STEM week’s charged contests and activities like the Dish Garden
Making Contest, Contemporary and Digital Poster Making Contest,
Online Quiz Bowl, and Call of Duty Tournament (Battle Royale) last
September 21-25, 2020.

Aside from the said contests, the Science Inside Talks 2020
on October 1 also featured brilliant speakers, including Molecular
Biologist and Infectious Disease Specialist, Raul V. Destura, MD,
MBA, FPSMID.

The celebration of SWeek concluded with an online awards
ceremony for the contest winners last October 2, 2020, on the
Facebook page of the SSC.

The week-long celebration of #STEMpoweredPotentials was made
possible by the SSC officers spearheaded by its President, Ms. Cyd
Arellano and her executive committee, with the supervision of their
advisers, Mr. Vince Harvey Cabrera and Mr. Michael Ian Rule, as
well as Ms. Charlie Mae Escalante, the Academic Chair of the STEM
Cluster.
