Welcome to the East Bay

Rental Housing Association

For over 80 years, the East Bay Rental Housing Association (EBRHA) has served property man-
agers and rental property owners in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties with education, re-
sources, advocacy, and a supportive network. Located near Lake Merritt in Oakland, our pro-
grams include weekly educational programs, a monthly magazine, an annual trade show, and
ongoing advocacy/awareness for related government regulations.

Our 1,500+ members own and/or manage over 30,000 rental units—including apartments,
condominiums, duplexes and single-family homes—in over 25 cities throughout Alameda and
Contra Costa counties. EBRHA members are overwhelmingly mom-and-pop homeowners,
though our members range in size from small investors to large property management com-
panies that own or manage hundreds of units.

EBRHA is dedicated to promoting fair, safe and well-maintained residential rental housing
that is compliant with all laws. We offer our members city-specific and timely education,
property management advice, networking opportunities, and advocacy at the state and local
level. Rental property in the East Bay is more complex than in most parts of the country. We
advise our members on the best policies and procedures to stay in compliance with federal,
state and municipal laws while also helping their bottom-line.
