1. INTRODUCTION:
Security Department discharges vital duties of Protection of Railway Property, ensuring
of Passenger Security, furtherance of Railway safety, facilitating Punctual running of trains,
bringing order in the trains and railway premises, ensuring timely assistance of Local Police
and District Administration in tackling Law and Order problems in co-ordination with GRP, to
make sustained efforts in providing safe travel to the passengers by preventing theft of
passenger belongings and drugging etc., apprehension of the criminal responsible for the
theft of passenger belongings and handing over them to the GRP for further action. Planning
& implementing special Security schemes during bundhs, agitations, VVIP visits etc., and
