a) Fire Safety Measures Provision of Modular type fire Extingushers in DEMU
Engine Compartments:
A total of 23 DPCs have been provided with modular type roof mounted fire
extinguishers to prevent any fire incidents on DEMUs. Each DPC is fitted with six
whenever the engine room temperature exceeds 68°C.
b) Provision of Safety Guard for Fuel Glow Rod Gauges of DEMUs:
Shed has designed and provided Safety Guards for Fuel Oil Glow Rod Gauges
on all 33 DEMU DPCs to avoid fire incidents due to leakage of HSD oil from
gauge on ballast hit while on run. This also helped reduce the online
detention/punctuality loss of train apart from improving safety.
c) Provision of Work Platforms on DEMU Power Cars:
Work Platform
Staff find difficult to attend DEMU Power Car Windshield, Head Light, Head Code
and Flasher Light during schedules and LPs also facing much difficulty for
cleaning of Windshield activity as they are not easily reachable. As such Shed
has designed and provided a Work Platform to the front end of DEMU DPCs to
enable staff and LPs to stand and reach these items.
