She was in her new room for less than twenty minutes when I helped her from bed to use the restroom.
No sooner did she get seated than she began heaving up substantial blood. I caught most in a plastic pan. It measured a
quarter-gallon. A Rapid Response Team worked on her for twenty minutes and sent her to ICU.

They had no choice but to let me stay beside her the entire time. Holding her hand or placing it over her heart, keeping
her eyes fixed on mine. We were so afraid.

A lady I thought was part of the Rapid Response Team approached me once we reached ICU and asked about my

relationship with the patient. My response was, "Oh, I just met her." ...She got that bewildered look I know so well; try
always to find humor during stressful situations, like throwing left curves at people. I said I was joking and that the

patient's name was Joyselyn, and she was my treasure. I'm proud to be her husband. She teared up and praised my
attentiveness to her. Said she had not seen or felt that depth of love displayed before. She addressed herself as a
                   Chaplain.

They worked on her for hours in ICU. Every kind of test possible. When she was in such a critical state, the doctors

asked if she had ever received blood. She told them by no means was she to have a blood transfusion. I spoke up and
asked if she would receive mine, and without hesitation, she answered yes. The doctor then informed us that mine
would not be enough if a transfusion was needed. I replied, so drain me. Later the doctors spoke with me in private and

said that it might be necessary to find a donor for her liver condition, or maybe her kidneys might fail. I told them to
take from me whatever they needed to keep her alive.

Doctors decided to do an Esophageal varies for upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Cauterize any elations and band if
                   necessary. Dec. 19 – 26, 2019
