“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to
save the world through him” (John 3:16-17).
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater
love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” —
Jesus (John 15:12-13).
Given what you see in those two passages, how confident are you
that you trust Jesus as a friend? That he actually loves you?

Jesus’ first disciples were sometimes fuzzy about who they
were following.
They knew Jesus could heal lepers, calm storms, and turn
water into wine, but when they saw him die on a cross they
couldn’t quite believe he’d rise from the dead.
Especially Thomas.
Thomas wasn’t in the room when Jesus first appeared to the other
disciples, and wouldn’t take their word that Jesus was alive.
He doubted.
