               not  seem  to  be  sympathetic.  On  the  contrary,  it
               appeared to be mysterious, unfathomable, obscure…
               M. Stuart felt a tremor: the horses started to gallop
               again through the storm.



               “Oh,  come  on…  Don’t  you  remember  Edward
               Seward, are you?”



               Many  memories  born  with  those  words  and  M.
               Stuart, very reassured, said in a hurry:



               “Oh! It’s you, really? I am so sorry! It’s good to see
               you again!”



               “I am glad to see that you remember your old friend,
               Jimmy.”



               A  little  shameful  but  delighted  to  see  an  old
               acquaintance, M. Stuart said:
