                        GLORIOUS ELIZABETH




               In the desert streets of Southampton, the storm was
               criss-crossed by blinding flashes of lighting among
               dark and bleak clouds. Wind gusts were pushing the
               last  passers-by  pressed  and  hurrying  through  the
               storm, all covered by a bowler hat and a thickness
               black coat. The breeze was lifting some abandoned
               papers on the floor. Among them, a wanted notice
               was spinning until crashing on a dripping window.
               A  weak  sallow  light  was  filtering  through  and  we
               could  perceive  at  the  back  of  the  room  a  man
               occupied to write precipitately on a piece of paper. A
               few minutes later, this man stood up and wore his
               hat and his mantle looking at the window in front of
               him, thinking. After switching the lights off, he left.



               “Oh God, it’s raining cats and dogs now!”, he cried
               out adjusting his hat around his head.



               At his great disarray, any horse-drawn omnibus or
               carriage would run in the streets with this storm and
