carriage was driving, was surrounded by a gigantic
garden. M. Seward and his domestics were in front
of the door. All the households were wearing with
black clothes and just as the coachman they had a
black veil who hid their faces except one of them.
“I hope you had a nice ride in. Please, come inside”,
said M. Seward with a hand gesture in the direction
of the manor’s entrance.
The entrance was as beautiful as the garden. A big
lustre was suspended on the ceiling. The walls were
red-painted, and many portraits of kings and queens
were hung on them. Right in front of them was an
imposing wood stair. While they were climbing in
order to go in the dining room, M. Stuart noticed red
traces on the stair railing. “What is it supposed to
be?”, thought Jimmy looking at M. Seward’s back.
“I hope you are hungry, kids, because a feast is
waiting for you!”, said M. Seward pushing the dinner
room’s doors.
