A long, long table was in the middle of the room. On
it, there were roasted chicken, a duck foie gras, and
lots of good things to eat. The table was recovered by
a white tablecloth on which there were gold dishes
and lids. For a family like the Stuart, it was like to be
in heaven. The children never saw so much food on
one table in their entire life. They were poor and they
could not eat whatever they wanted.
“Please, have a sit”, inquired M. Seward. His face
was warm. He said his words with a very hearty
voice. “He wasn’t the same man inside the carriage”,
thought M. Stuart.
The households were inside, some of them were
reviving the fire into the chimney, others were posted
at each corner of the room, ready to serve M. Seward.
Despite the misunderstanding of the sudden
Edward’s change attitude, Jimmy succeed to take
part to the conversation between his wife and his old
friend.
“Indeed, I travelled a lot. For instance, do you see this
statue on the buffet?”
