CEBU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY-UNIVERSITY

As you gather for the 19th PIIE National Congress, 11th IE
Research Conference, 2nd AI Summit and CEO Forum, and

PIIE-Cebu's 20th Anniversary, it is vital to recognize how
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies

are transforming not just business strategies, but also the
way we design and implement systems that benefit both

people and the planet. AI is more than just a tool for
optimization—it is a powerful enabler of innovation that

allows us to rethink systems, workforce integration, and
long-term sustainability.

Industrial engineers have the unique responsibility of creating systems that not only
enhance efficiency but also align with regenerative practices—those that regenerate

resources, harmonize human and environmental needs, and contribute meaningfully
to achieving our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By embedding AI and

regenerative systems thinking into strategies, we can address present challenges

while shaping a sustainable future.

I encourage all participants to continue seeking ways to combine AI with systems

thinking and workforce empowerment, ensuring that the solutions created bring

lasting benefits for both present and future generations. May this gathering inspire
innovation, foster collaboration, and contribute to a world where technology serves

the well-being of all.
