➢ Present the CHED memorandum Order of the program: Draft CHED Memorandum Order, Series 2017

The draft CHED Memorandum Order Series of 2017 required the renaming of the program from Bachelor
of Arts in Public Administration (BAPA) to Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA).

The draft CMO, in recognition of the spirit of outcome-based education and typology of Higher Educations

Institutions (HEIs), provides ample space for HEIs to innovate in the curriculum in line with the assessment of how
best to achieve learning outcomes in their particular context and respective missions.

Per Section 13 of RA No. 7722, HEIs shall exercise academic freedom in its curricular offerings but must
comply with the minimum requirements for specific academic programs, the general education distribution

requirements, and the specific professional courses.

The curriculum complies with the minimum standards, requirements, and prescriptions of CHED for BPA
Program, suited to the context and mission of the University. It consists of 154 academic units divided into general

education, public administration core, special core, electives, practicum, and was enriched by adding subjects as
required by the University (Institutional Requirements).
The BPA curriculum prepares its graduates for technical and administrative positions, executive and policy-
making positions in government, civil society, and international development organizations.
