Class Reptilia
They are crawling animals.
Cold-blooded and have two pair of limbs.
Skeleton is flexible.
Respiration takes place by lungs.
Have 3 ½ chambered heart.
In crocodile heart, there are four chambers.
Eggs are covered with shell made up of calcium carbonate.
Lizard, snake, tortoise, turtle are some examples.
Cobra, the only snake which makes nests.
Heloderma, the only poisonous lizard.
Class Aves
They are aerial vertebrates - birds.
Warm blooded tetrapod vertebrates with flight adaptation.
Fore-feet are modified into wings to fly.
Respiration through lungs.
Birds have no teeth. Beak helps in feeding.
Single ovary and pneumatic bones.
Crow, peacock, parrot are some of the examples.
Ostrich – Largest bird.
Humming bird – Smallest bird.
Largest zoo in India is Alipur (in Kolkatta)
Class Mammalia
Warm blooded animals.
Tooth comes twice.
No nucleus in matured RBC.
Skin of mammals contains hair.
External ear is present.
Divided in to three sub classes :
Protheria – Lays eggs. E.g. Echidna.
Metatheria- Bears the immature child. e.g. Kangaroo.
Eutheria- Bears well developed child. E.g. Humans.
Give birth to young ones, but Echidna and Platypus are egg laying mammals.

Integumentary System
Human skin is composed of a minimum of three layers.
They are epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.
Epidermis
Top layer of the skin is made up of epithelial cells.
